Permissions are 755 by default, so it was relying on the...

[ubuntu] Re: Accessing /var/www from SFTP

I like the idea of a webmaster user, but I was concerned about having apache not own the /var/www folders. However, it seems that mine is already root/root, so apache must not care.
    I made a...

    [other] Re: Toshiba Satellite 1755

Yeah I ripped it apart. I plan to put a wood frame around it and hang it in the kitchen for my wife to use. (wireless keyboard and mouse so they can be out of the way).

    [other] Re: Toshiba Satellite 1755

How ironic. I have the same laptop and I just dissected it to make a kitchen computer. I was looking up the video specs while reinstalling Xubuntu when I came across this post.

    I run Xubuntu on...

Re: UT2004 black bars in widescreen

I ended up just changing my FOV to 108 to compensate for the difference. Quite the hackjob - I'm still all ears if anyone has any ideas.
  10. Unrecoverable graphics error in Guild Wars (ATI, Hardy)

Some background: I ran Guild Wars fine in Gutsy using -dx8 -dsound and -noshaders, as of Hardy I can't get it to work...

Wine versions: currently running wine-1.0-rc1 but this was happening in 60...

Re: UT2004 black bars in widescreen

Update - nothing called out in UT2004.ini helps
Every valid 4:3 resolution pops up stretched but with no black bars
Every 16:10 widescreen resolution in the list gives these black bars, with the...
