The version in the repos is currently 2.10 but 2.11 is out as an RC. Is the choice of 2.10 pretty much solidified for 14.04? I don't care one way or the other but the last thing I want to do is...
Oneiric is worse than Krappy Koala. 64-bit seems to be broken as far as 32 bit compatibility goes. The volume indicator no longer lets you change the volume with the mouse wheel. Was there any bug...
So far so good with compat-wireless-3.0-rc4-1.tar.bz2 as well.
I can confirm that the 3.0 rc4 and rc5 kernels work much better but I still regularly, although less frequently, get deauths so that instead if being unusable, it is now only annoying.
Ah, I see that there are more recent rc's. rc5 seems to be working great for me so far. Will know more tomorrow.
The attached drivers compile and load fine but cannot get a connection. I also tried the 3.0 kernel (rc1 since that is what is in the ppa) and get a panic on boot.
As a matter of fact, I have exactly the opposite situation -- at home I have 2 APs with the same SSID that computers can connect to but at work, just one.
I got it working following these instructions!
For anyone interested, my xorg.conf is:
Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
Unfortunately it's the DVI monitor that's not recognized. I tried setting up the monitor myself in the xorg.conf file but that didn't work either. Thanks anyway.
I have to think that the Nouveau...
I tried the proprietary drivers (the old one, the current one and the x-swat current one) and only 1 monitor is recognized.
I've gotten the dual head setup working with xrandr:
xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --right-of VGA-1
I suppose I could put this in a script and start it on login but that seems inelegant to me.
Hi all -
I just bought an eVGA graphics card so that I could used a dual monitor setup but I'm having a bear of a time figuring out how to set it up. Any one gotten it to work with this card?
This is with the 11.10 alpha not Natty. I emailed the xubuntu-devel list and apparently the presence of Libre Office is a temporary condition.
I booted up the Xubuntu image and found to my dismay that LibreOffice was included. Is this a permanent change or are the devs soliciting opinions?
Anyone have any luck figuring this out using Natty? I've had no luck with either the compat-wireless drivers or the drivers downloaded from Realtek's site. There seems to be a difference between...
Any help here?
I did an "expert command line install" using lucid's mini.iso and I told the installer to include only modules that it thought were necessary. What do I need to do, short of reinstalling, to change...
Can someone tell me what package to install to get olive-gtk? I found a development email that said olive-gtk was split out from bzr-gtk but I can't seem to figure out which package to install to...
So am I the only one for whom wifi is a little buggy? Does anyone know if the backport modules are any better?
I have a ZG5 as well and I find the wireless to be a little spotty -- sometimes the connection gives me no throughput even though the wicd icon says I have a good connection. This was a fresh...
Purging pulseaudio also did the trick for me.
Uninstalled pulseaudio and sound works fine again.
Hmmm, it doesn't seem to remember that it is unmuted when I reboot.
Turns out sound was muted and this showed in gnome-volume-control but didn't show in my tray-icon. Everything works great now! Thanks!
