[SOLVED] 14.04 - No sound on MSI A6500 Laptop

Today my daughter asked me to upgrade her laptop to the newest version of Ubuntu. The upgrade/install seemed to go smooth and when it was finished I found there was no sound. Not being a TOTAL...
  7. [ubuntu_studio] Re: rEFIt Dualboot OSX10.6.8 /Ubuntustudio 12.04 - How to permanently remove OSX

You know, I love OS X and Linux. I have SEVERAL OS's including Windows 8.1 booting on my MacPro. That said, OS X is my favorite OS period. I'd never get rid of it in it's current iteration.

Re: Running Saucy in a Parallels VM

I'm using the OSX version. I like Parallels because it has faster graphics and quicker UI response compared to VMWare. However, I've been Primarily using VMWare for it's dependability. VMWare...

Running Saucy in a Parallels VM

Okay, so I've been trying to test Saucy in a Parallels9 VM. It installs fine, but the VM Tools won't install so the screen resolution and mouse won't work properly. Fusion6 works better in that the...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Graphics still to slow after adding 3D acceleration in Ubuntu 13.04 guest

I'm not exactly sure how you're defining just a little bit slow, but your vm settings look like it's memory starved. Bump up the memory (double it) and try again.

    Imagination or is it faster?

I just installed 13.10 in a VM on my Mac. Is it my imagination or is 13.10 actually faster than 13.04?
  13. Re: Give me one reason why Mac OS X is better than Ubuntu...

Yeah, $19 dollars is going to make everyone go broke. It's way over priced. You shouldn't even consider anything that will take $19 out of your budget.

There are plenty, but this is a Ubuntu board, so of course that will be the sentiment most observed. I probably felt the same way a few years ago, but actually working on Pro Workstations with OSX...

Yeah, but I'm thinking it had some help from the OSX HD or something. I could be wrong. As soon as I'm feeling well again, I'll crack it open and pull the boot drive, and then see if it'll boot the...

  24. [ubuntu] Re: Is it safe to remove the OSX partition with rEFIT installed?

This is exactly my question too. I just got a new (my first) Mac Pro listed in my sig. below. I downloaded and tested the AMD64-Mac ISO and it booted up beautifully and EVERYTHING worked out of the...
