    The other oddity is that I cannot have my webcam plugged in during startup or NONE of my sound (input or output) are recognized.

    I have a MB with input / output for audio, I have a usb webcam with also a mic. When I choose sound settings and select the input tab I see both the built-in audio and the webcam....
