I have had some games update and become unrunnable. I managed to install the Glorious Eggroll reboot of Proton on my Manjaro box, and it runs just about everything I have thrown at it.
The original 2012 Acer C7 had a 360GB hard drive, and, with Chrubuntu, made for a great $200 Linux laptop. More recent Chromebooks have far smaller SSDs instead.
I'd get a nice cheap new Windows...
And you just might like nano, as well. I certainly do.
Apt is very different from yum, which is very different from pacman or yay.
Your best bet is to read the apt manpage.
Bear in mind that Steam has over 3000 native Linux games, and, with Steam Play with Proton, over a thousand more Windows games are 100% playable.
Gaming in Linux used to be the main reason people...
Ubuntu MATE, in the Mate Tweak app, allows your desktop to look like Windows (Redmond), OSX (Cupertino), and Unity (Mutiny!) as well as the usual top-down menus.
There will always be games Linux gamers just can't play, but my own Steam library has few in the "Borked" category. There are a pile of games we can play.

The new AMD APUs are very good indeed. I have an Acer Nitro 5, with a Ryzen 5 2500U which is a 4-core, 8-thread CPU, with Vega 8 graphics. According to benchmarks in action games, it's about as...
They're (the Paradox grand strategy games) incredibly complicated, and have a steeper learning curve than they should, but once one figures out what the fark is going on, much pleasure can be derived.
Oh, certain games still have that kind of community. On the Steam Dominions 5 forums, people will propose a strategy and attract a number of comments about its efficacy, something which might work...
You should choose "Something Else," and not use the "Install" selection.
You probably will have to use the top buttons to select the drive you want to install Linux on, but make sure that it...
It's the thing that gamers use to show contempt for anyone without their mad skillz when they ask a simple question as you did.
Here, and in just about every other distro's forums, we treat...

The ONLY way to properly install Steam is from the repositories:
sudo apt install steam
There are thousands of games which run on Steam for Linux, both native Linux games, and, with Steam Play...
You should do very well with either nVidia OR ATI. Both give excellent results for Linux.
I moved from Ubuntu, after twelve years, to Manjaro for the huge software availability. I got sick of PPAs, and compiling the apps which disappeared long ago from the Ubuntu repos, which frequently...
So, being an inquisitive guy, I downloaded the Solus .iso. Burned it, booted it, said, "that's interesting, and rebooted. The Solus live session came back up with no USB installed. I rebooted again...
I did try installing Arch, and realized that 12 years as a user had taught me little about fstab and other esoterica. Not being eager to hose my system, and try all over again, I used Manjaro and now...
They're real He-Men, spending a lot of time instead of just using Calamares and get it right automatically. As easy to install as Ubuntu itself, and, horrors! An easy-to-install Arch system! The Arch...
There are several DVD ripping apps, which extract the data on the DVD into a playable video file and are able to get past DRM, which then can be burned to that big DVD and should work fine.

Having moved to the easiest way to install Arch, EndeavourOS, which allows your choice of desktop during installation, and gets you into pure Arch, with the largest library of software available,...
What you need is a Nero option to "burn an image." That is how to do it. A far better way is to burn the .iso to a USB thumb drive, using the free program Rufus, which works like a champ.
Win7 is...
I am now ROOT !!
I am trying the package manager and (on a new/clean installation of Ubuntu 18.0.4) I get an error "Unable to fetch some archives ............" when I try running # apt-get -y...
