Modern Ubuntu server releases use netplan by default. If everything is configured properly, it should set the DNS configuration in systemd-resolved and you'll be able to see the DNS servers in `cat...

  3. Re: Triple Boot? Windows, Ubuntu, and Backtrack

The hardest part is partitioning. Namely, finding a chunk of free space to put this new OS. When I do this, I don't use the installer's partition manager but instead use Gparted. As long as you don't...
  4. [SOLVED] Re: Lubuntu and Xubuntu not booting from USB

Two possible workarounds come to mind: installing outright, or using Grub2 to boot the ISOs. If you install outright, make sure you move the bootloader to the flash drive, other than that, it is just...

[ubuntu] Re: Notify-OSD Custom Not Theming

Yes, that was the application I was using; the version string confirms it. Despite this however, it appears as if it is ignoring part of my theming file, but not all of it, which is odd.

  10. [ubuntu] Re: Internet access only via VPN (Cisco AnyConnect), when VPN off - DNS look-up fails

If you can ping something on your local network, double check your DNS server settings. It is a possibility that you only have DNS servers available via VPN in use, which would cause you to be unable...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Computer will not boot after installing 12.10 upgrade

Can you boot into recovery mode? Or do you not get past/to the GRUB boot loader? If you can boot into that, perhaps we could help you diagnose what is causing it to hang.
