[all variants] Format a USB thumb drive into FAT32

I'd like to know how I can format a USB drive under Ubuntu (command-line only) as FAT32.

Is mkfs the only command I need? What parameters do I need? Any help is greatly appreciated.
  4. [all variants] Check system information from command line?

Is there a command to check system information from the command line, such as processor chip (32-bit or 64-bit), memory type (DDR1 or 2), video card model?

    Re: Wubi and Windows 2000

It was the latter. No matter what key I pressed, it wouldn't work. I think I've had this problem before with another distro, so I don't think it's Wubi's fault.

    I do remember uninstalling using...

    Re: Wubi and Windows 2000

Well, Wubi worked fine and it installed Xubuntu successfully. Unfortunately, Xubuntu couldn't recognize my keyboard. It was a corded Logitech keyboard but (I think) it thought it was a wireless...

    Re: Wubi Crashes on startup

    Wubi says:

Wubi has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

I'm using Win2000. The first time I ran the wubi, it...

    Wubi and Windows 2000

Does anyone have any experience using Wubi with Windows 2000? I read that it's supported and should work, but perhaps it hasn't gotten the same amount of testing as WinXP and Vista.

    Well, I'm...

Can't wait to see the improvements in the next Wubi (8.10) release. Wubi really is a fantastic tool.

    Re: Wubi Feedback

Might be a stupid question, but I just want to make sure. Is it possible to use Compiz in Ubuntu when installing through Wubi?

Re: Get ready for Wubi 8.04!

Re: Get ready for Wubi 8.04!

Was wondering if a great number of people have actually gotten this to work. All I read in this thread was a bunch of people having problems.

I'd like to give this a try, but I don't want it...

Re: Have anyone here tried CNR for all?

The site is in alpha, but the expected release date is sometime this month. Hopefully, it'll at least be well-tested and ready for Gutsy. I think this is a great free service, which OpenSUSE also...

Can y'all post the .torrent link when it's released. That would help a lot.
