    Well, we got it up and running again. I still don't know what caused the problem with grub not recognising the kernel upgrade, but it seems to be ok now.

    Cheers guys, that worked :-)

    Now having another problem with it though. I upgraded the kernel and the grub entry for Linux didn't update.

    This is quite easy to fix by running boot-repair...

    My Ubuntu EFI partion is sdb1. Booting from here loads GRUB (which has a Windows entry but it doesn't work...I'll have a look at the link to the bug in a minute)
