For those that are interested, I have the sources available for a donation. You can check my website http://www.remastersys.com for details on how to get them.
You will get the Ubuntu sources for...
Add "-comp xz" to the squashfs options in the config file and it will compress the squashfs more. This might get you under the limit. Otherwise, try to remove some unwanted icons, images, etc -...
I have re-enabled the repositories for now but I don't know how long I can keep them up.
I will make final update packages with some recent fixes and provide them as a direct download from my website in the next few days. After that, Robert Dohnert's fork of remastersys should be used...
It looks like this will be the fork that I authorize - http://system-imaging.blogspot.ca/
I am in the process of handing everything over to them.
3.0.4-2 has been out for many months now. Yes this is the end of the road. I have also stopped development help of another project that actually has the website so it isn't right for me to continue...
It is no joke. I have stopped development of remastersys altogether. There is someone that might fork it and continue but not sure at this point. I am completely done with it and remastersys is...
The latest version 3.0.4-2 works with 13.04.
I've been doing a lot of testing with the higher compression for mksquashfs and it works fine now.

What ppa's do you have on your system? I just recently found out that there are some ppa's that have caused problems as they contain apps/libs that cause casper/ubiquity to fail.
You have something messed up on your system. Please explain everything you did after the initial install so we can figure out what you did wrong.
You'll have to get it from my repository.
No I'm not sure. I've been working with traditionlist on his issue and he has made a successful remaster from a regular install with only the basics. I've asked him to document each step mto see...
Really busy and forgot to say thanks for the nice endorsement!
That is really old. I have a new signed repository. You can find the info on my Ubuntu page on my website.
You are using an old version of remastersys. Please upgrade to 3.0.3-1.
Just be aware that if you share this with others there are folks who may have issues with it not being able to boot properly.
I've also put together a littel howto for those running a desktop environment or window manager that is gtk2 and as a result makes Ubiquity and other gtk3 apps look ugly.
You can find it on my...
Check my latest 3.0.3 package as there is a fix in there for usb booting due to isolinux.
Right but you just mentioned that the same iso works fine on virtual box and not on your regular systems. This tells me something on your home network setup is causing issues with...
With gdm, you will need to setup your default xsession so the system knows which one to use.
It is set in /etc/alternatives and is the x-session-manager link. You can change it by using...
According to your log it looks like gdm wasn't setup correctly. Can you post your gdm config files?
