  1. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu equivalent to Windows' Control Panel (where's Flash Player Settings Manage

You need to install the package "adobe-flash-properties-kde"

(This seems to be giving me some weird dependency problems but nothing has actually broken)

[kubuntu] Re: Amarok and USB external disk (Precise)

So now it's appeared after two days... just after I stopped something else from running that was also accessing the external disk. Coincidence? Bug?

[kubuntu] Amarok and USB external disk (Precise)

I'm trying to get Amarok to treat the music on the internal disk and the external disk as two separate collections, because I don't always have the external disk plugged in.

    This seems to be how...

    So to explain the explanation...

You need to get hold of the .pak files from the original Quake. I downloaded the shareware installer and ran that in WINE. That unpacks Quake into the...

klaasvg - You are not going mad. :-)

There is a bug in here somewhere. I've seen a few people ask the question in the past but I've never run into the problem myself before. Now I have.

  12. [ubuntu] Re: They say? GIMP is not as good as Photoshop. Is there Linux version or use Wine?

OK, we all want to know... what was the feature? I'm prepared to agree Word makes it very hard to do some very basic things!
  13. [ubuntu] Re: They say? GIMP is not as good as Photoshop. Is there Linux version or use Wine?

Interesting! Did you do something specific to the wand settings in GIMP to make this easier? I'm currently working on a fashion website and this task is currently the most time consuming of the lot....
  14. [ubuntu] Re: They say? GIMP is not as good as Photoshop. Is there Linux version or use Wine?

And I expect Adobe's lawyers are a few steps ahead. :-)

Paint.NET is very good - Windows, but it works under WINE. I mention it because it's free.
  15. [ubuntu] Re: They say? GIMP is not as good as Photoshop. Is there Linux version or use Wine?

When you say "not as good" - do you just find it harder to do certain things, or are there features missing completely for you? (I know what's missing for me, and it's "real soon now" for best part...

Re: HOWTO: Jaunty Intel Graphics Performance Guide

  22. [kubuntu] Re: kopete and webcam with MSN - no start video option?

    Well, for the record...

  23. [kubuntu] kopete and webcam with MSN - no start video option?
