  4. [ubuntu] Re: Youtube videos not playing -- black "screen" but flash works elsewhere

YouTube just started working normally for me, and I've heard from a couple of other Linux users that it's working for them too. Looks like YOuTube might be working it out.
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Youtube videos not playing -- black "screen" but flash works elsewhere

YouTube just rolled out a new user interface - I suspect that is the source of all our issues. It is working with https for me.
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Youtube videos not playing -- black "screen" but flash works elsewhere

My son reports that YouTube is working for him again. Must just be a YouTube glitch.

  12. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu booting to black screen with mouse cursor

It sounds like you might have accidentally deleted something important when you "cleared stuff out". Is your home directory in a separate partition? If so, I'd just reinstall since you can do so...

Do you have a firewall activated in Ubuntu that could be blocking the attachments?
  14. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu stops doing anything if no key has been pressed

I'd look at your power management options first. Turn then all off. If the problem goes away you've likely identified the source of the problem. Then play with the sleep / hibernate settings to see...
