How about Ubuntu One notification? My drop-box notification shows up in the status bar above but my Ubuntu One notification shows at the bottom.

Problem solved by following...

After a recent update, my computer suddenly shutdown few hours later...I was initially discouraged by the amount of work that I lost as a result. Then the computer won't boot normally... It booted up...

I followed this... though it did not solve my problem, it added another problem. I am able to log on now but it say"
