Can Scan or a similar app in ubuntu scan a messy handwritten document and replicate it with neater text??

if your laptop has 2 512mb ram sticks and you want to replace 1 of them with a 2gig stick...which one should you replace??? it seems to matter on some laptops..

There seems to be endless unknowns in loading ubuntu on new laptops... it seems though that if you do a dual boot trial and it works then you are ok...
and if it doesnt you can erase ubuntu,no? ...

I have a 12 year old Toshiba S4384 105 series... It has 1 gig ram most likely by 2 modules of 512 ram side by side. If I put in a 2 gig in the right slot can I expect it to work
in Ubuntu 14.04...

I will try to disable auto login for awhile and then enable it again. Canonical knows about this bug.

14.04 If I change the log in password to nothing will I still get prompted to enter a main password when software wants to install on my pc??
I would want the main password to remain in effect...

i have tried both 32 and 64 bit ubu 14 with a Toshiba satellite 2006 model. 1 gig ram dual core. Both work but 32 seems to be a bit better. Do you think 32 bit is a better choice for this older...

i installed mint 17 mate over ubuntu 14. Mint seems much faster. ANyway now when I turn on the computer I dont go to a choice menu where I can boot Windows.
