Hi,
I've been searching for hours now, and I can't find anything. I am trying to install a (win)modem, one BT Voyager 105, and when I run eciadsl-start it fails with this:
...
I'm not going to stop using that key, for what I can see it does its job; tells the OS to make the switch. And EDID is a VESA standard.
Thanks for the suggestion, will do.
Fresh.
It's...
Hi all.
I would have thought that this would have been a key thing to work on with the ever growing laptop market. But apparently progress has fallen backwards. Though this may appear to be a bit...
The only other thing I can suggest at the moment is to disassemble the laptop and remove the wireless card? If that's even possible.
Is there not a wireless switch on the laptop? If not; is there an option in the bios to turn it off? There should be at least 1 of those available.
I would say use the upgrade button. Be aware though, upgrading takes a long time.
I can confirm this worked.
It did hang on the first reboot. I don't know whether I needed to or I was just being impatient, but I did a cold shut down after a while.
On second boot it threw an...
Ok, I found a work around, albeit a bit inconvenient, using a thing called astyle.
Found an article here, that is written for MonoDevelop 1 but works on 2, that tells you how to set it up.
Here...
Hi,
When I first installed I was very impressed by the boot screen looking so nice and fitting to my laptops 1280x800 resolution, but since I installed the nVidia drivers it has gone to a...
Hi all.
I've recently picked up the C# language and have been using it on Windows exclusively (due to no Linux install 'til yesterday). I decided to install MonoDevelop and give that a go. All is...
The 2 above posts by auh2o are problems for me too. This especially arises with the desktop; it will move it about if you have no other windows in focus, naturally causing issues.
If there is any...

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to start Compiz plugins, that have no "auto-start" feature, automatically at login, for example. Being able to start them on specific times and dates would be a...
Only if you have something like an Intel graphics card. Cards by Nvidia or ATI require drivers to be installed then a restart, and when you restart on a live cd you lose everything including...
I have found on my system when it does this that turning off Compiz sorts it out.
When Compiz is turned off all flash seems to work fine, but when Compiz is on flash based stuff, especially...
CPU Frequency Scaling is where your processor clocks down to a slower speed to decrease power consumption. It probably does reduce heat production too.
EDIT: Found these 2 links if you want more...
I am bumping this thread because I, too, am displeased with the new change and would like the previous functionality found in Ubuntu 9.04.
With a little searching, I could not find any "proper"...
Simpley delete the menu items :)
Insert and boot from you WinXP disc and get to the recovery console. When this is up simply type fixmbr which will remove grub and replace it with Windows' own boot loader. To remove Ubuntu simply...
The closest thing you are going to find is Screenlets. You can install it from Add/Remove... and then search places like Gnome-Look.org to get extras for it.
Perhaps you are trying to make an Audio CD, rather than a Data CD.
The difference is that an Audio CD has the time limitation whereas the Data CD has the space limitation. Audio CDs are like the...
Well, firstly what you downloaded is not needed, Thunderbird can be found and installed very easily by clicking on Applications -> Add/Remove... and then typing thunderbird in to the search box,...
The only thing I can think of is ClamAV. There are others like Avast and AVG but they dont offer a graphical based system.
It could also be your screensaver, perhaps?
