    [ubuntu] Re: Safely Remove Pulseaudio?

This is very little information. Did you try to google it? If so, what steps did you perform, what did you check?

It's a bit impolite of you to ask for help without even trying to find the answer...

[SOLVED] Re: Wrong aspect ratio in fullscreen

Isn't it enough to put this command into the ~/.xprofile file? You might not have to invoke it manually after each start.

    [ubuntu] Re: Safely Remove Pulseaudio?

ubuntu-desktop is a meta-package, so removing it shouldn't screw anything up. However, You can always reinstall it in one of terminals:

    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
I assume You can log in...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: PPA repository for original cdrtools for newer Ubuntu?

I haven't tried it with Brasero. I don't know what it exactly needs but You can always try to create a link for wodim:

    cd /usr/bin
    sudo ln -s cdrecord wodim
    and mkisofs:

    cd /usr/bin
    sudo ln...

    [ubuntu] Re: Install Thunderbird 3

You made a complicated thing from something very simple. ;)

You should just enable multiverse and universe through System -> Administration -> Software Sources and then just go to Application ->...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: PPA repository for original cdrtools for newer Ubuntu?

Well, before I switched to Brandon's PPA, I used two scripts for installing and uninstalling, both attached.

However, I prefer the repository approach, so I don't use them any more.

    If You're...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: PPA repository for original cdrtools for newer Ubuntu?

First, uninstall what You've messed up. ;) To do this, go to the source directory, invoke:

    sudo make uninstall
Then execute (it will add a special Ubuntu repository for cdrtools):

    sudo...

  12. Re: Is nspluginwrapper needed for 32-bit Flash with Firefox 3.6.4

Why would it mean anything? Another process is another process, 32-bit processes can easily communicate with 64-bit processes.

There may be some specific implementation-related difficulties, but...
  13. Is nspluginwrapper needed for 32-bit Flash with Firefox 3.6.4

I wonder if the Firefox 3.6.4 Out-Of-Process-Plugins mechanism makes nspluginwrapper needed any more. Isn't it possible to have a 32-bit plugin-container process along with 64-bit Firefox? Then we...

  17. Re: [IPv6] Aren't we giving away too large IPv6 address blocks? (IPv4 problem, v.2?)

If we assume all 2^128 addresses are available and that they will be about 10 000 000 000 people in 2030, then each of them will be able to have more than 8e18 (8 * 10^18) block sized as full IPv4...
  18. Re: [IPv6] Aren't we giving away too large IPv6 address blocks? (IPv4 problem, v.2?)

Once You discover companies that will have trouble having 2^24 clients get 2^96 address blocks, instead of:
    340 282 366 920 938 463 463 374 607 431 768 211 456
    You get:

  19. Re: [IPv6] Aren't we giving away too large IPv6 address blocks? (IPv4 problem, v.2?)

The whole point is so that we never have to switch again (at least not before leaving the Earth ;)). 2^128 adresses means 6,7e17 addresses per mm^2 of Earth surface - I don't think we will ever reach...

  21. [IPv6] Aren't we giving away too large IPv6 address blocks? (IPv4 problem, v.2?)

One of main reasons of the IPv4-exhaustion problem was a reckless strategy of providing large organisations and companies (like IBM) with Class A IP address blocks. One could think the same mistake...

  24. [ubuntu] Re: I can's see desktop icons and Nautilus option "show desktop" is not writable?

It doesn't matter. It displays home directory, but at the same time it shows desktop contents if they were not present. But that would be it if You really had nautilus process killed.

You can still have some entries in separate files lying in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ directory. Check if it's empty; if not, post here contents of files there.
