[SOLVED] Re: Ubuntu server 16.04 - Network card change

    Hi Guys,

I found the fix. I just needed to discover the new label for the new interface.

    I ran:

    ip link

This showed the new interface label. I then modified the label to match in:

[SOLVED] Re: Ubuntu server 16.04 - Network card change

    Thanks guys for your responses.

Yes, it look like I am talking about the udev rules, but in 16.04, the udev directory is empty!

I'm fully aware of the config file /etc/network/interfaces but...

[SOLVED] Re: Ubuntu server 16.04 - Network card change

    Additional:

I've tried searching for enp8s0 as it appears to be the new name instead of eth0.

Getting little to nothing useful to work with.

[ubuntu] Re: Connect to webdav in 13.04

    Did you find how?

I am running into the same problem.

BTW.. Why did Ubuntu call the file manager "files"? Searching the web doesn't produce helpful results!

    :-(
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Possible to install Ubuntu on Viewpad 10e?

Allready spotted this page. I tells how to tweak an Ubuntu installation on the 10e. It does not tell you how to install Ubuntu on a 10e
  7. [ubuntu] Possible to install Ubuntu on Viewpad 10e?

    Hi guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the android 2.3 OS on my Viewpad 10e with Ubuntu?

  8. [ubuntu] Re: Terrible battery level prediction since 10.10 - Any fixes?

Tried the new kernel, but it did no good.

Just upgraded to 12.04 beta yesterday. First impressions appear that prediction is OK with 12.04.

Using the cat commands as described in earlier posts...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Terrible battery level prediction since 10.10 - Any fixes?

It isn't hardware. Really, its not.

Battery prediction still works fine on 10.10 & also Windows.

I need to move forward with a fix for 11.10, or hope that 12.04 has a fix.
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Terrible battery level prediction since 10.10 - Any fixes?

    An additional note:

I booted to 10.10 live CD & running the previous commands gives the same results.

Strange that 10.10 was absolutely fine at predicting the battery.
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Terrible battery level prediction since 10.10 - Any fixes?

Windows, but other than "battery prediction works on another OS" I'm not sure that its pertinent.

Yes, I tried 11.04, but it was badly broken for my laptop due to graphics card issues &...
  12. [ubuntu] Re: Terrible battery level prediction since 10.10 - Any fixes?

The battery is fine (I have 2). Discount any hardware problem.

I have dual boot on my laptop & the other OS has reasonable prediction.

The problem started since Unity. I can roll back to 10.10...
  13. [ubuntu] Terrible battery level prediction since 10.10 - Any fixes?

    Hi Guys,

Ubuntu battery prediction is terrible with my laptop. Upon power-up, Ubuntu frequently reports one minute of battery power remaining, yet the hardware LED is happily glowing green.

Right... You can look at the original commands & use iwl3945 instead of iwl4965.

    Cheers.

[ubuntu] Re: Unreliable wireless in 11.10

You are probably using a different driver to iwl4965.

    Run this to see:

sudo hwinfo --netcard | grep Driver:

Modify the command you used earlier to fit your system.
