    systemd logging (journalctl) defaults

    Systemd has its own logging tool, journalctl. In some cases the the traditional logs such as syslog and kern.log continue to exist; but in the case of pm-suspend.log it is no longer updated. Now you...

    Re: is 15.04 about to switch from upstart to systemd?

    Since the update this morning, that removed upstart and installed systemd-sysv, my /var/log/pm-suspend log is no longer updated. Is this expected? I don't see a replacement log I can use to monitor...

    "w" reported...
  8. Re: Cannot find a simple video cutter that works all the time

    Yes, Avidemux 2.6 can cut your .ts files for you to remove commercials. That's all I use it for. With Avidemux 2.6 you must perform your cuts (at least your input cut) on an i-frame. Just to be safe...
  9. Re: Cannot find a simple video cutter that works all the time

    johnaaronrose, I found mplex was only useful to mux .mpg files not .ts files. I have good success editting my ATSC source .ts files if I;
    -run the .ts file through Project-X. This step is necessary...
