    Re: powernap help

The ubuntu power management doesn't do the job, since the system can be very busy when I am not using it. Fortunately I don't have the same problem as you.
  2. Re: Cannot get Remmina to copy and paste from client to server

So I start Remmina and connect. I hit Right Ctrl and r (or R?), highlight some text on my client, then what? I can't get it to paste into the server using Left or Right Ctrl v (or V). I'm baffled....
  3. Re: Cannot get Remmina to copy and paste from client to server

    Thanks.

I'm not really clear how sharing a folder helps me cut and past text, and at first sight I don't see how to use it in ubuntu (I'm not using Windows) or why it helps. I already have...
  4. Re: Cannot get Remmina to copy and paste from client to server

My client is Remmina, the server is running xrdp. Both systems are ubuntu 13.10.
  5. Cannot get Remmina to copy and paste from client to server

I have found quite a few posts on the subject of getting Remmina 0.9.99.1 to be able to copy text from the client and paste to the server, or vice versa. However, I haven't found any solutions.

[SOLVED] Re: SATA 3 SSD errors at boot

I was asked by the PC manufacturer to install Windows and try that. I did so.

Since I had already set the disk up with GPT partitions, and UEFI boot, this was actually not too hard (even though...

  9. [SOLVED] 13.10 crontab jobs don't generate notifications

I run a cron job using luckybackup to create daily backups. On 12.04 this runs fine, and generates useful, persistent, notifications to the top menu bar (I have "indicator-notifications" installed)...

    Re: powernap help

I had the same problem. It may be worth looking in /etc/default/powernap. For reasons unknown to me it had START=no in it. Changing this to 'yes' and rebooting fixed it.

    Why I couldn't start it...

I have been trying to get powernap to hibernate my desktop running 12.04 if it isn't doing anything, and not to do so if it is busy. I have got this to work on user activity, and one or two specific...

    [SOLVED] Re: LibreOffice Report Builder

I'm closing this thread. LO 4.1 still has the report builder. It's flaky, but not an ubuntu issue.

On 12.04 this seems all OK after several LO updates, so I'm closing this thread.
  14. [SOLVED] Re: PDFs with Video give "A 3D data parsing error has occurred"

I installed Adobe Reader 9.5.0 for Windows under Wine 1.5.29. This works. I have no idea why it works and 9.5.5 for Linux doesn't.

I tried tried the latest Windows Reader (XI - 11 to those of us...

[SOLVED] Re: How to create an audio CD?

Since this is stuff I created and recorded myself it's completely legal, and there's no way CDDB could ever know what it was.

As to the CD Text, I was wrong in believing that the data had been...

[SOLVED] Re: Is there any way to create an audio CD that actually works properly?

Having tried many things it now seems that Brasero can write wavs, but not flacs. This looks like some form of incompatibility between Brasero and gstreamer on ubuntu 64 bit 12.04.

    I struggled to...
