    The good thing is on Ubuntu 10.04 there is no longer any popping noises for me. So you might want to just wait till you upgrade at this point since it is only a few days away.

    stldirty- Try my solution. I posted it a few posts before this one. Commenting things out didn't work for me either so I came up with my own solution. Download the zip file I have the fix in there....

    That solution didn't work for me. So I came up with this solution. It's a shell script that plays a silent 5 second audio clip over and over to keep the sound card from turning on and off.

    Yeah the New York Times does the same thing with their podcasts. You need Itunes, but they do have links to the actual mp3. But they don't have links to an rss or xml feed. :mad:
