    Limit user CPU usage

    Hi,

Maybe this is not the appropriate area for this post... however, I could not find a better one. So, here goes:

I would like to limit the CPU usage for a user, say that he/she should be...

    Re: Sylpheed e-mail cient v2.0.0

I would also like to see Sylpheed 2 in Ubuntu!

However, it has yet to enter Breezy (a quick look at the Ubuntu packages gave version 1.0.4 for Breezy). In other words, if I have understood...
  3. Re: hoary-backports, hoary-extras and acroread (and maybe others)

This happened to me as well: when I tried to install acroread earlier today, I was promted with the old version (i.e., 5 instead of 7). Just like you I had updated my sources, which do include the...

Re: HowTo: Add Official Skype Apt Repository

I'll second that --- nice tip for us who always forget to manually check for updates! Also, as for now, I'm only using Skype for telephony, via SkypeOut and SkypeIn. So far so good ... :)

    Re: ChessBase with Wine

"Xdefaults", despite the name, doesn't exist per default. As a matter of fact we don't want it either! The proper choiche is rather "Xresources" (apparently this goes for Debian based systems)....

    Re: Request: Wine 20050524

I haven't tried it yet, and perhaps I won't (my Wine works quite nicely as it is), but they seem to have Ubuntu repositories as well? I tested

    in my...

    Re: ChessBase with Wine

Thanks for the tip! Now I'm using Vico's dyche2 style, which looks great to me, when running xboard. One small detail: if changing style make sure to create the configuration file ".Xresources"...

    Re: ChessBase with Wine

OK, I'll try! (Actually, there will be no real installation, since this procedure only creates an executable to run.)

    I did like this:

    1) Download the source package

    Go to...

    Request: knights

Would it be possible to backport "knights" from Breezy (universe; 0.6-3build1), even though it is not part of Hoary? (knights is a KDE chess interface.) If so that would be great!

    Re: ChessBase with Wine

    About your programs:

    1) Knights I think is a KDE application. It is not to find in Hoary, but under Breezy it exists. Perhaps we could ask for a backport?

    2) Crafty is not part of any Ubuntu...

    Re: ChessBase with Wine

Well, I got Fritz and Shredder up and running just the other day, by installing the backport packages (wine, libwine, winetools). Then I configured wine using winetools (which I had not done before)....

    Sounds great! :)
  15. Re: Ubuntu Backports is now an OFFICIAL Ubuntu Project

Does this have any (good) implications on the version update once Breezy is out?

I recall going from Warty to Hoary required some handling (besides the usual "apt-get dist-upgrade") concerning...
