Hi all,
I have created a server at work, connected to the domain via Centrify.
My Windows domain password has an exclamation mark at the end (!). When I try to access a share, I am prompted to...

When I google search the same thing, i never get the "-d"; the sites always say that it's a development release/beta/alpha.
Could you post your/etc/apt/sources.list file? Unless I missed it in a...
I'm sorry you're having all the issues, but to be fair, you did try to update to a development release; you mentioned a site where you grabbed the info. What website said to use the "-d" option?
...
Hmm... I would suggest that you try and make sure everything is updated via
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude upgrade, maybe then reboot just in case it's needed and try the release upgrade...
It's not
sudo do-release-upgrade -d, the correct command is

Hi all,
I have excessive screen tearing in WoW (in WINE). I have attached four screenshots, and my /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I am running WoW in OpenGL mode. I am also using two identical Dell monitors...
Right now, it's the latest version of NetBeans (6.5) as it's not in the repos, but I'd like to know in general, as I've had this issue in the past.
Looks like that's just for source packages, but thanks.
Hi all,
Is there a way to convert a .sh file to a .deb? Or any other way to have Ubuntu's package manager see the installation of the app?
I'm wondering if checkinstall may be able to help, but...
hmm, that actually is a very good idea, should've thought of that! :D
I'll investigate how much space will be needed for a minimal desktop environment, as I might suggest this to friends that are...
Hi all,
Can anyone suggest a secondary Linux distribution that I can install alongside my Ubuntu install, that will primarily be a "rescue" distribution?
For example, rather than booting live...
In Linux the "Windows Logo" key is called the "Super" key. You can use it as any other for shortcuts, by going to: System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts. Here, you can change any shortcuts, and...
No ideas?

Weird, when searching specifically for GeForce 8800M GTX drivers on the NVIDIA site, I get the link for the 169.12 drivers. But I see that the link you provided also supports the GeForce 8800M GTX. I...
Those drivers are desktop GPU drivers, not laptop GPU drivers.
Also, this knowledgebase article does not inspire confidence that NVIDIA laptop drivers will be released again...
