Re: Google Chrome Announced == Google Browser / OS
It would seem I'm posting alot in this thread but anyway ...

Apparently the 'official release' is Wednesday. Of course whether thats the comic, the browser or both I have no idea.

I agree, not just because of KDE themes and stuff, Opera uses Qt4 and looks fine in Gnome too, Google could obviously achieve that if they wish as well.
Also I feel that Qt is just a superior toolkit to GTK in many ways, would you really dislike if it was like Skype or Opera and had it's theme work perfectly well on Gnome, but was still Qt?
I've seen many Qt apps that looked fine on Gnome, every GTK app I've ever used has looked horrible in KDE.
EDIT: I'm just assuming that the main problem is themes, since my main problem with GTK is that they look terrible on KDE. Which doesn't affect Qt with the proper effort done by the developers of the program, it may not fit into your Gnome theme but it would look a lot better than a GTK program does on KDE

From reading that it seems it's just the comic that will be released Wednesday :(... Hopefully there'll be more info available then.

Form a cross platform perspective Qt makes sense. Yes, GTK apps look horrid on kde.
Re: Google Chrome Announced == Google Browser / OS
I really don't think I could love google anymore.
Especially page 37.
Go Google!

Yes, but Qt apps don't always look horrid in Gnome, which means, in my eyes, unless it will ONLY be a Gnome app, choosing GTK is just wrong. Unfortunately many people here just think in terms of "Will it look good in Ubuntu with Gnome" rather than "What is the best choice for a Windows/Mac/Linux program that should look good in all DEs".
I'm annoyed enough that Firefox does this, if Opera worked better with Flash I would definitely switch.
Re: Google Chrome Announced == Google Browser / OS
Qt in my mind looks really good on all platforms (including windows), GTK on the other hand, not so much. :/

Haven't done it on Kubuntu (I use ALSO but unless flash 10 is in the repos I don't use it) but on Gentoo I've noticed horrible slowness on some sites (can't remember which) and lack of sound and/or video on others (ustream for one)
