Ubuntu 12.04 on a macbook pro 3,1
Hi all,
Is it possible to install Ubuntu 12.04 on a macbook pro 3,1?
Reading https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro it seems that the last version I can run on my mac is the 10.10, but I don't know why. Can you please show me what limitation arise from installing a newer version?
Thanks a lot

RAM: minimum requirement is 384Mb, I've got 2Gb.
3D unuty: I think that a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512Mb can handle 3d accelleration, isn't it?
Disk Space: 160Gb aren't enough?
lag: LAG is a network problem, I think that with a gigabit ethernet card I will not have lag problem.
general instability: software or hardware problem? Actually I'm running a Lion SO without problem, maybe it's not resposnive as Tiger was.

I'm running 12.04 on my macbook 1,1 and it's fine except I can't get it to hook up to my TV properly. Other than that it seems to run very well and my specs are much lower than yours ( 1gb, 60gb hd, intel gma). If I can get the tv working I hope to use it as an entertainment system.
