Hanging Leeenux installation
Hi
I am attempting to install Leeenux on my eeepc 4g.
I believe that Leeenux is derived from Ubuntu, so I hope that I'm not off topic. I went for this distro as the ssd is only 4Gb.
I downloaded the iso, burned a stick with 'universal usb installer' and booted from it. I have previously used this successfully with Kubuntu.
Unfortunately the installation hangs right at the beginning, with a message SYSLINUX 3.86 2010-04-01 EBIOS Copyright (C) 1994-2010 H. Peter Anvin et al
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Richard

Yeah - unfortunately, only Ubuntu (and L/K/Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio) is supported on these forums. I see on the Leeenux website that they point to a forum there:

Thread moved to Other OS/Distro Talk.
Re: Hanging Leeenux installation
Just to follow up on this (and because I don't really want to sign up to cnet forums but I do use this site)...
My solution was the same as in http://forums.cnet.com/7723-6617_102...hang-on-eeepc/
I redid it with unetbootin. And it worked finally. My first attempt was with the default ubuntu program System > startup disk creator. But as elsewhere described it hung and didn't load the livecd. So I downloaded unetbootin and this time it worked.
Specs:
trying to install to an old eee 2G surf
installing from ubuntu lucid (my desktop computer) to a usb stick
installing the livecd/install image of leeenux v6 LXDE 2G free version
now is working :-) we should mark thread as solved.
