So, bluetooth is up and running.
Klick0, can you post the link from where you downloaded the evdev source?Quote:
Ok, I got it to work, not very gracefully, but it works. Forcing evdev to touchscreen mode was the key, i couldn't find a nice way to do this though, so i downloaded the evdev source code v2.5.0 and just disabled the touchpad interface, and forced it to touchscreen. Here is what I changed in evdev.c
Thanks,
Victor
You can download the evdev driver from:
ftp://xorg.mirrors.pair.com/individu...v-2.5.0.tar.gz
I just realized, evdev 2.6.0 is out, the mirror I used before only had upto 2.5.0. You may just want to try 2.6.0.
I'm gonna see if 2.6.0 detects the device as a touchscreen, if it does, then problem solved. If not, you could still probably use 2.6.0 if you wanted, and just make the same/similiar change as above.
Ubuntu 11.04 beta just came out, has some multi-touch support with their new interface. I think i'm gonna load that up to see how it works.

How does 11.04 handle this hardware? Does touch and bluetooth work out of the box?
I tried to install 11.04 alpha on the slate but it messed up my grub so I didn't even test it.Quote:

I was running 11.04 alpha on my desktop and ran into similar bluetooth issues - not sure if the updated bluez made it to the repos but would imagine it has. I'm going to give it a try later as well.
I'll try it out once I receive the Slate (the slate is Temporarily not available here in France).
So, what about accelerated graphics? Can you play HD videos smoothly?
haven't tried to play hd in ubuntu but it can handle hd under win7 no problem...
That's good news, but I try to avoid using Windows as much as possible ; I don't feel like home using this Operating System.
Win7 is more shiny than the previous release, but nowadays, we can really do a lot with Linux :
- Synfig
- Inkscape
- Mypaint
- The Gimp (really need a new UI)
- Blender
- Openshot
- Scribes
Gosh! If everything work on the Asus slate it might be a dream come true.
I agree with you but since I haven't been able to get multi-touch working on the slate, I've relied on Win7 but intend to ditch it as soon as I get ubuntu working!! :)Quote:

Hi Klick0,
what do you mean exactly when you say you tried evtouch? I went to synaptics to download xserver-xorg-input-evtouch, but i don't get the output "EVTouch TouchScreen id=15 [slave pointer (2)]" when I type xinput list. I tried the next steps you suggested, but they didn't work, so I think i did osmething wrong when installing evtouch drivers.
I'd like to use your solution to get touchscreen working, even if it doesn't have multi touch.
Thanks
