[HOT] PCManFM 0.4.4 with Samba, SSH, and FTP support!!!
Here is a screenshot of the latest PCManFM in development.
As you can see, now we have remote file system support (under development) and compact list view(already available in 0.4.1.1 stable).

Warning: This is NOT a stable release. Use it at your own risk
This is the first release of FUSE experimental branch.
What's new?
* Mount remote file systems via ftp, ftps, sftp, and samba with user-friendly GUI. (utilize FUSE technology)
* Some minor bug fixes.
Note: FTP/FTPS support is provide by curlftpfs. SFTP support is provided by sshfs. Samba support is provided by fusesmb. To use those new features, curlftpfs, sshfs, and fusesmb must be installed.
Besides, for FUSE to work, you must be a member of group 'fuse'. Otherwise, you'll get "permission denied". For detail, please refer to the documentation of FUSE.
Security Concerns:
* When using ftp and ftps with curlftpfs, the username and password will be passed in the command line, so they are clearly visible with 'ps' command. Use this with cautions.
* The usernames and passwords are stored in ~/.config/pcmanfm/remote-fs.list in plain text without encryption. The permission of that file is 0600, so only the owner and root can view it. However, there are still risks. Please keep this in mind.
LXDE rocks!! :)

Yeah no kidding. Keep up the good work. This looks like it can turn into something great.

This is so many different kinds of awesome, I don't even know where to begin.

I've been waiting for a decent SCP/SFTP-enabled file manager - I'll start testing/using this at work starting tomorrow and report back! :D

I haven't tried connecting to a Samba share, but I was able to connect to FTP over SSL and send & receive data just fine. However, when I attempted to "disconnect" via the context menu, I just get this:

Also, clicking on "Network Neighborhood" killed PCManFM until I install fusesmb - I figured that out by watching the terminal, but the GUI should pop up a dialog box stating that you need to install fusesmb rather than just quitting.
Other than that, I'm loving it.
Re: [HOT] PCManFM 0.4.4 with Samba, SSH, and FTP support!!!
So...maybe it's just me, but my Network Neighbourhood is empty, even though I have a system running a samba server downstairs (I didn't have it on last night).
Remote Host Settings just give me the option for FTP, FTPS and SFTP, should I be seeing SMBFS in there? I've verified that I'm a member of the FUSE group...
Re: [HOT] PCManFM 0.4.4 with Samba, SSH, and FTP support!!!
I started playing with this today... discovered what might be a small bug. If I connect to an FTP site with a backslash in the username, I have to escape the backslash myself like so:
user\\name
instead of just
user\name
Is there a bug tracker for PCmanFM that I can file a bug?
