[studio] Putting the webcam online...
What programs are available, or recommended, that work well for using a webcam online?
(If the program(s) have microphone support, even better.)
Any apps available, or recommended, that allow for embedding a webcam on a webpage?
(No mics are necessary for the webpage embedded one(s.))
Thanks!

Re: [studio] Putting the webcam online...
Whats your goal? Do you want it for the purpose of monitoring/securety, webcam chatting, or just a feed for a webpage (aka look what my fish are doing today)?
Re: [studio] Putting the webcam online...
Good questions... I'll clarify a bit...
Two goals:
1. Communicate with people (video & audio).
2. Embedding in a webpage (video only).
Re: [studio] Putting the webcam online...
For communicating with others, Skype is a popular choice. As for putting to web, look at webcam-server.
Hope this helps,
Norst
Re: [studio] Putting the webcam online...
I've got Skype, will definitely test it out. Are there alternatives to that?
Regarding the webcam server, I tried installing "webcam-server" from Ubuntu's repo, though it's not working. Or is that webcam_server a different program?
Thanks :)

[bump]
It looks like webcam_server and webcam-server are possibly different, though I was only able to install the one in the repo. Although it's installed, it's not working, perhaps I have to make some changes to how it's set-up? Or is there another program out there that works with embedding webcams onto webpages? (Also, is there a good alternative of voice/video chat to the Skype program?) Thanks!
