router connectivity issues ubuntu 12.10

As of yesterday I have only been able to access the guest wifi account from my wireless router. At first I thought it was a router issue, but 3 other pc's on the network have no issues. I am running ubuntu on 2 of them and windows 7 on the third. This machine is running ubuntu 12.10, and again i can only access the guest wifi account on my router. This only started yesterday. until then it as working fine. any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are their any obvious differences between the two? encryption levels? etc

there are no differences between the ubuntu machines. not sure what i did but it started working after following some thread. not even sure if i did anything. may be an intermittent issue.
