Streaming Software
Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good package to install... I am using Ubuntu 11.04 which mainly in use as a Samba server for Videos (About 220GB at present)
I am looking for a way to have a nice web front site on the box, which will enable me to stream my movies over the web via a web interface... So i can go to http://ipaddress:port, login and select a video which will play in the web browser.
Very much like Home Server 11, I thought i could get this functionality from XBMC, but seems not, just a snazzy player for your TV.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated, it would need to build it's own site according to the contents of the directory.
Doesn't need to be pretty, just stream!
Many Thanks

Re: Streaming Software
Hi,
It's not free, but Twonky for Linux does the job pretty well and is very cheap.
However, I don't know whether the web interface will suit your exact needs or even if it works on 11.04, but you can give a try.
Cheers,
David
