Most of the suggestions made in this thread, have already been made in the other thread.
After approx. 10 power fails, I lost work again on the PC with the ext4 default setting, PCs with ntfs and ext4 mounted with mode=journal survived, more or less according to my expectation.
I have been running EXT4 since it was released and I have had no issues... love it.
