At my work, we tried linux, for the IT staff. We couldn't even get it working stable. Serverside we rely on it, but desktop wise, its just too iffy.
Most likely. Or worse, an IT "pro" who pimps MS stuff wherever possible. We have one of those at our company and it's ridiculous. This person has the owner of the company believing that we "need" SharePoint 2010, and so far it is collecting dust on a shelf, not even installed yet. That was many thousands of dollars well spent now, wasn't it?
