Looking for personal schedule software package
I'm not looking for software that has any relation to CPU scheduling, but something more for personal use. I don't want to use Evolution, because I'm not looking to keep track of weekly repeating tasks on an annual calendar. It's not for business use, but something more applied to home chores or weekly maintenance of my car. Has anyone come across anything close to this? I'm out of ideas on where to search.
Re: Looking for personal schedule software package
KDE has a nice personal calendar called Korganizer as part of its "Kontact" suite of PIM packages. Try 'sudo apt-get install kdepim'. If you're on a standard Ubuntu machine running GNOME, it will need to install a lot of additional libraries. Perhaps a better approach is to boot a Kubuntu Live DVD and give the program a test-drive. Who knows, maybe you'll end up joining those of us who use KDE.
Another simple option is Google Calendar. That has the appeal of worldwide availability at the cost of putting your data online.
Re: Looking for personal schedule software package
Hmm. Yeah. The problem is that these software packages revolve around an annual calendar, where I was just looking for something a little more basic that revolves around weekly to-do everyday stuff, like a reminder that says "It's been two weeks, go take a shower." or "It's already been two weeks+1day. Did you really shower yet besides clicking the "okay" button?"
Re: Looking for personal schedule software package
Orage would be pretty good for that purpose. It came with my Xubuntu system, but I don't think you will have to install many dependencies.

Maybe osmo is worth a look, as well. Small & simple it may be, but it may do what you want, though it's a long time since I used it.
