That's great, using nomodeset isn't uncommon. It took you right to the gnome shell? That's what it should have done, just want to verify it. Anything strange pop up?

Not exactly plain sailing ..... it has a error message saying it cannot load lubuntu session
but if you click on it it goes into Gnome - shell
Now here is my first problem in live mode
if you log out to change session it asks for a password ..... which is ?
__________________________________________________ ___________
but this may not apply once installed as we will be setting up a new user ....... with their own password
It has various languages too ..... just realized all various English ..... what it changes ?
and a lot of sessions to choose from
I am going to install it now .......... and will let you know how it goes shortly ...... ;)
Yeah, it's pretty much a one trick pony. My goal was a gnome 3 shell live image on Ubuntu. There was no password added anywhere so I don't have one to give you. Once installed I'd reconfigure gdm back to default and ignore lxdm.
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm

* image shows selection of kdm & gdm, it's just an example of what the screen will look like *
Will try to create a new user as that will do it ..... and have already set the root passwd ok ...
So I have full privileges from the live CD and Internet connection

Before I do that I will just try a live install ...... and then report back on what happens
I need to create some space first .......
\\:D/
Worked perfectly 1st time for me (aside from the lubuntu warning).
Cool.
The install is going well and it is just like any Natty standard install so all the instructions
are the same ...... :)
Almost ready to test it ...... its now in the Final Phase .... just waiting for the last
few files to install and then will let you know how it goes .....
Oh by the way this time I forgot to do the modeset ..... and it still went in ok after
waiting a little on the Lubuntu session message ...... once I clicked it ..... it went straight in
too ........
Will let you know about the other sessions once the Install is complete because as a new
user - it should now accept me into the other systems on it .....
Keep up the great work ..... seeing that this is only the second disk you have created
64 bit and now 32 bit ........ your success rate is pretty good ...... as both versions work.
I am looking forward to more ...... ;)
