Syncing Deletion?

Alrighty, I just got Ubuntu installed like a couple days ago, and now I am ready to get rid of it. Using my android phone, I was going to take the music that was on my phone and sync it to Rhythmbox, I thought Rhythmbox worked like Windows Media Player, so I just let it sync the music, somehow, all of my music was deleted from my phone and laptop. I looked online and all I saw was complicated codes and things, I'm not that advanced in things like that. How in the world did this happen? and can I retrieve those randomly deleted files?
