A little help: default screen res.
Hi.
Here's my problem: i have to pc's hooked up to one monitor, and i switch between them... When i boot up my ubuntu machine but the monitor isn't switched to that computer, ubuntu boots up in lower resolution than my screen and i have to restart x. Is there anyway for the X to go to a default resolution all the time? If so can someone pls provide DETAILED instructions, cuz i am a noob... :)
Big thx in advance!

Have a look at this post.
The thread is addressing an issue that is a bit different than what you describe, but I run two PC's off a single monitor using a KVM switch, used the procedure there to set up both, and it works for me, maintaining the settings during boot in both Gutsy and Hardy whether the monitor is switched to the booting PC or not.
