UNetbootin Ubuntu 8.10 LIVE USB problems
I followed the guide from pendrivelinux and created a bootable USB stick with 8.10 on it. It booted fine, but then I tried to run updates and install some more apps and when I rebooted I got an error about busybox v1. something. then the prompt just said-
(initramfs)
What's the best way to make a live persistant USB from windows? Shouldn't I be able to install updates without messing it up?

Re: UNetbootin Ubuntu 8.10 LIVE USB problems
So with that second link, can I make a bootable usb with a persistent version of 8.10?
Both links talk about a persistent install. I have tried both methods and keep running into problems on first reboot after installing updates or apps to ubuntu.

I'm having this problem as well. Both articles do indeed mention persistent installation. I used UNetBootin.

Edit: turns out I overlooked the second article's potency. I made a persistent install using the second one, http://www.pendrivelinux.com/live-ub...stall-windows/
