How about a section to to create a GRUB boot disk? (So I could install GRUB, with the appropriate configuration to boot Ubuntu, to a floppy disk, for instance).

I've been annoyed ever since I did a dist-upgrade to Edgy because I lost my splash screen altogether, along with any boot text. It also took about twice as long for my machine to boot up for some reason. I checked the forums, and the boot time issue was shared by other folks who lost their usplash screens.
I had tried a couuple of solutions posted to the forums, but they didn't work. Yesterday I found this post on Debianadmin.com, which talked about the boot up manager.
I tried BUM with the instructions on debianadmin, and it worked! I get my splash screen back. I'm still not seeing boot status messages, but boot time is about twice as fast as it was.
And now I don't feel the need to install from CD.
