Check your keyboard layout in System->Preferences->Keyboard
Thanks for your reply, i cant do anything in keyboard layout, and i cant select a model because none come up.
Thanks in advance

If a UK keyboard was selected at the time of installation then maybe your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file has got corrupted.
Mine (Dapper - 6.06) has the following section in it:
Suggest check your xorg.conf and edit if necessary. Then restart X.Quote:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
Driver "kbd"
Option "CoreKeyboard"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "gb"
EndSection
Thank you! i changed Option "XkbLayout" "uk" to Option "XkbLayout" "gb" and now it works fine
Thanks and solved
