Burn an ISO more than 2GB
This is a question which seems to have many hits but doesn't seem to have a real solution.
I'm not the greatest power user in the world but I can use terminal (as in apt-get, running sh files) I also have K3B which I found from other threads to use. It also said to use UTF.
The settings I have used in K3B are:
Create Image = Yes.
Verify Written Data = Yes.
Speed = Auto.
Under File System Tab:-
File System = Very Large Files (UDF)
The ISO needs to be bootable (if that makes a difference).
I have been through many threads, many of them old and out of date, I would be forever grateful for anyone who helps me.
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
I'm not really sure what you mean exactly, but have you tried Brasero?
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
So, you have an ISO that's larger than 2 GB and you just want to burn that to a DVD? If so, you should be able to right-click the file and choose Write to Disc...".
Or something else?
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
Basically:
I have a 4.7GB DVD+R disc.
The ISO is 2.3GB.
Some ISO standard is 2GB.
I've ticked options to do with UDF but still get write errors or not enough space, etc on Brasero, K3B and CD/DVD creator.
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
Burning 2 GB + iso's just works for me. Has worked for a very long time (years since I remember this being an issue at all). Using brasero, nautilus, k3b.. what have you.
And it's only the large iso your having issues with, not writing to optical disk's altogether?
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
try a new clean disk. if that does not work, then it could be the cdrom being old and does not produce enough power to write the data.
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
Yeah, it could be your drive dying. With a 2 GB file on a 4 GB disc you shouldn't need to worry about overburning or any such thing. My right-click method ought to work just fine. If you are getting space errors I would suspect first the disc and then the drive.
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
Cheers guys but it says 4.4GB free space in Brasero.
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
And? Just because Brasero tells you the correct space available doesn't mean the drive is capable of actually writing in that space. Suspect first the disc and then the drive.
Re: Burn an ISO more than 2GB
Can't even burn a 32.1MB iso to a DVD+r.
Guess I'll have the drive looked at and try DVD-r?
Cheers guys!
