hybernate/suspending problems?

i have had trouble suspending on 12.04,l compiz seems to become unstable on wakeup,
if it wakes up at all.. i assigned the command "compiz --replace" to a keyboard short cut and that seems to fix it, though a little annoying.. :P
is there a known way to fix this?

also what happened to hibernating? i remember there was a hibernate option in 11.10, though i never used for having mis allocated my swap space when i installed and thus not having enough room..
is there a hibernate option in 12.04 or 12.10?
