Ubuntu 8.04 and XP: Cannot ping each other in Hamachi
I posted this in the Hamachi user forums, but have had no responses yet.
Brand new to Hamachi, so I installed it on my Work laptop which is XP, and my home PC which is Ubuntu 8.04. I work from home for now, so I have easy access to both.
So I installed everything fine and have gHamachi running on Ubuntu, started the network and can see each in the window and both online. But I cannot ping each other. I can ping the localhost on both, and the individual Ham IPs, but not the other Ham IP's.
Any thoughts?
Re: Ubuntu 8.04 and XP: Cannot ping each other in Hamachi
you need to add an exception in the windows firewall.. also if you have firestarter or anything similar installed.. you need to add an exception there as well

added the exception in windows firewall, actually, i didnt have it on at all (oops!), but added the program as an exception and turned it on.
I dont have a firewall on ubuntu.
