How to manage ipod nano 4g in ubuntu

Hi, newish Ubuntu user here.

I am trying to manage my iPod Nano 4g in Ubuntu but everything I have tried doesn't seem to be working.

I have tried Amarok, it recognises my iPod but it doesn't recognise my local collection of mp3s. I have installed all the codecs and it does play mp3s but nothing adds to the collection.

So what I am looking for is an ipod manager that will work with my ipod and that has last.fm scrobbling support, it doesn't even have to be able to play anything.
