Ubuntu - based on Debian unstable (Sid) + added and changed programs.
Ubuntu LTS - based on Debian testing + added and changed programs.
Been running Debian SID for about a year now - no problems.
Took #! to testing, then to SID then installed VSIDO.

Saying any distro is "stable" is as much a myth as saying Debian SID is "unstable"!
That's my opinion.

Now is the danger times for SID since wheezy just went stable a lot of apps from "experimental" are hitting the SID repos, but with care ... there is no problem,
If you see "errors" wait a day or so.
