you have a problem with your port forwarding apparently.
Have a look at any tutorial for any direct connect client out there. You'll find the problem.

Not sure why that happened to you, but I've modified the SConstruct code to be a bit more robust in its error checking. This should hopefully fix your problem once it's committed to cvs. Until then, you can always delete the offending lines from SConstruct. ;)

You could also use Automatix2 and have it installed in 20 seconds. :D
