Now that it is legal to make backup copies of my legally purchased DVD's what program would I use so that I could utilize them in library form for XBMC on my Ubunutu?
brasero will make exact copies of discs, i assume it will work fine with dvd's but you'd need to make sure libdvdreader4 and libdvdcss are installed

It is a bit out of date; I should probably re-write it. I'm not sure if that command I have in there for installing Medibuntu is valid. But the rest is fine.

These applications will decrypt commercial dvds? Basically I have a small DVD collection mainly kids movies that my son wants to watch 1006 times. I want to copy the dvd to my harddrive and allow him to watch it till the hard drive crashes.

there are definitely better disc burning/copying programs out there i use handbrake, i mentioned brasero because youll already have it installed
