12.10 Thumbnailer support
I read that the new release of Lubuntu 12.10 is going to include support for external thumbnailers with the file manager. I downloaded the beta and I'm testing it out, and the file manager automatically creates thumbnails for pictures, but I can't get it to show thumbnails for videos, no matter how small the video file.
Is there something extra that needs to be installed?
Re: 12.10 Thumbnailer support
I've got the same question, but the release has now gone public.
What do we need to do have enable video thumbnail support in Lubuntu 12.10?

Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?
Anyone?
Re: 12.10 Thumbnailer support
I had the same problem too. After reinstalling Ubuntu 12.10 I copied back all my saved video files directly from my USB unit, but after that all thumbnails were gone.
Try this, it worked for me: open ~/.cache with Nautilus file manager and locate the thumbnails folder. Rename it or delete it. After that, open your video folder and that's it, the system will generate again the thumbnails folder and all thumbnail files within. It just works great!

It sounds like what you're referring to is Ubuntu, which handles thumbnails differently than Lubuntu.
