What is the little man in the circle with the equals symbol
Hi there. This might seem like a silly question but does the little man in the circle with the equals symbol represent immediately when booting up Ubuntu? I've been using Ubuntu for a long time, and I remember seeing it show up a few releases ago, but I never could understand what it means or what it stands for... And what is the little rectangular box on the other side of the equation mean, because I can't figure out what it is supposed to represent either. The best I can figure out is: 'Something equals humans?'. Odd question, but thank you.

Re: Quick Question: What is the little man in the circle with the equals symbol
The boot menu is now hidden so those symbols are supposed to indicate a human and a keyboard. You have a whopping 3 seconds when that appears to press a key in order to display the boot options for the live image.
Re: Quick Question: What is the little man in the circle with the equals symbol
It is not just the old style boot menu that we get when we press enter at the screen but also accessibility options. And that is why the icon of the human is there. The next time you run a live session press Enter and see what options you get with the function keys. There is a similar 'human' icon at the log in screen. It also give accessibility options, such as an on-screen keyboard.
The other icon is a keyboard. It represents the ability to change boot parameters using the keyboard.
