Desura Game Distribution Platform
It looks like Desura officially launched a Linux client to the public.http://www.desura.com/groups/desura/...e-linux-client
I have not had a chance to try this yet, but it looks awesome. It's a Steam type distribution platform that claims to be easy to install, patch and play games on any Linux distro.
The list of games is pretty impressive. Mount & Blade, Sanctum, Fallout 1&2, Humble Bundle types and more. Has anyone been using this? Is this too good to be true? I hope this really works!
Re: Wow! Desura Game Distribution Platform
I've installed it. For now it doesn't have too much of Linux games. For now I've just installed demos, thinking about which game to buy.
Some of the games sold there you can buy also in USC (but I didn't compare prices).
Generally, worth installing and buying.
Re: Wow! Desura Game Distribution Platform
OK so it's not like all of the games are available for Linux then. Oh well. It looks promising.

So far I have 20 games from Desura ^_^
Re: Desura Game Distribution Platform
I've installed Desura and had a little play. So far I like what I've seen! I like that you can install it and all the games on partitions other than the ubuntu partition, that one can get a bit tight on space!
Is it possible to register the games I already have, like old humble bundles, and play through desura with out loosing my saved games and profiles?

Hey, let me know what Monster RPG 2 is like. I've been interested in it a few times, but the title just makes it sound like a generic mess. I mean does it have a good story? Charm? Good pacing? Non repetitious combat and dungeons? I want to get it because it's a good game, not because it feels like a type of game from a generation ago.

Re: Desura Game Distribution Platform
Just bought Family Farm from Desura. It's pretty fun and reminds me of Harvest Moon. One click install, no errors. I could get used to this! :)
