How to Upgrade with CD/DVD from 10.04 to 12.04?
hi all,
i see on google that if u boot from 12.04 you can choose Upgrade option at the graphical installer.
But if i boot the 12.04 i dont have this option on the graphical installer.
Is there any other way doing with the updae manager or something?
p.s.
1 no internet connection on this box atm,
2 this is a Super OS 10.04 x64 bit version.
3 New Ubuntu disk is actually 12.04.2 version.
Im still googling around to, any help would be appreciated. :)
Thanks in advance,
Nikolai

Its the "Alternate Install CD" that will upgrade 10o4 to 12o4.

Re: How to Upgrade with CD/DVD from 10.04 to 12.04?
hi thank u,
i already figured this out,
but now i get this error message:
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:
'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'
Anything i can do?
p.s. As much as i was refusing the idea of using the not LTS version. And this is why i actually intended to install Super OS 10.04, upgrade it to 12.04 and use this. Like i did before. But somehow wifi drivers didnt install on 10.04 at this new laptop. So i cant do it online. And alternate cd doesnt help to. Maybe it will be simpler to just download latest Super OS and just use it.
edit:
maybe another option is to use latest Super OS (11.10) and upgrade this to 12.04. :)
Re: How to Upgrade with CD/DVD from 10.04 to 12.04?
What is this Super OS you are talking about? Are you sure you can simply upgrade with the standard ubuntu version?
If the OS has been changed, even if it's based on ubuntu, a direct upgrade to ubuntu might not work.
