Migration from Kmail 1.1.11 to Anything Else

All I need to do is get the emails and settings from Kmail 1.1.11 out and into any other more modern program. There does not seem to be a way. It literally had no export or backup functions. I have tried downloading and reading the user manual which is worse than not reading it, as its instructions are for much later versions of the software and simply impossible to execute as they do not exist. The older manual is completely absent from the Internet.

The sys in question is running Ultimate Ubuntu 2.4, not that it has anything to do with the problem.
